Radio Clatterbridge

Founded in 1951, Radio Clatterbridge is one of the oldest hospital radio stations in the world.

The registered charity is run entirely by volunteers dedicated to providing an around-the-clock service of music, entertainment and information to patients, staff and visitors at Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral.

Radio Clatterbridge is run by an annually-elected Executive Committee and a large team of people who give up their spare time to keep the station running.                                                                                                                          

Whether it's a presenter or news reader, ward visitor or music librarian, every individual is an important cog in the wheel.

Funding

Being one of the smaller registered charities, Radio Clatterbridge has an uphill struggle to raise the cash needed to sustain a daily radio service. Our studios sound and look fantastic, but the facilities have come at a cost.  The station is in the process of building a transmitter to allow Radio Clatterbridge to be heard for the first time by people anywhere on the Health Park. However, this means there will be increased running costs to keep the studios operational.
